The Systems Biology and Bioinformatics (SBI) research group at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi was set up in 2003. At the present, SBI (means easy and happy in Thai language) is the forerunner in the research area of systems biology, bioinformatics, and metabolic engineering in Thailand. There is a strong cooperation from members of different institutions with various backgrounds, including molecular biology, biochemistry, engineering, mathematics, and computer sciences. This allows SBI to employ a multidisciplinary approach to obtain greater insights to living organisms from genome and other omics data.
